The word “Podcast” is an acronym for “Personal on Demand Broadcast” and just as that explains a podcast is a collection or series of digital audio files that one can listen to anytime and anywhere. These are usually hosted by an individual (or individuals) who share news, stories, motivational thoughts or interview guests.

Why should students listen to podcasts?
Podcasts allow students to enhance their listening skills. Further, it also helps them practise their listening comprehension of both conversational and formal speech, which would thereby help them enhance their speaking skills too. And thus, many teachers use this means to influence students outside of the traditional classroom.
Furthermore, UC Berkeley concluded in a 2016 study that listening to narrative stories, much like that of podcasts, stimulate multiple parts of your brain.
